Why Evangelical?

The term evangelical stems from the biblical word for gospel.

As evangelicals we hold to the original meaning of the term and underscore five primary principles often referred to as the “solas” of our faith.

1. Sola Fide – We are saved by faith alone.

2. Sola Gratia – Salvation is offered to man by grace alone and not by works of any measure.

3. Sola Cristo – Salvation is provided through the atoning and substitutionary death of Christ alone. No other source or person can provide salvation and forgiveness of sin.

4. Sola Scriptura – The Holy Bible is our sole foundation and source of truth and divine revelation and fully trustworthy for faith and practice.

5. Soli Deo Gloria – All of creation is intended for the glory of God alone including our salvation and daily life in Christ.

Pulpit Ministry

The Bible is God’s redemptive plan laid out so that we can understand the act of God’s creation, our alienation from God due to sin and God’s taking men back to himself. It is God’s clearest revelation of himself to us. For this reason we place great emphasis on the preached word. We focus primarily on expository preaching as the means of conveying the Holy Spirit’s intended meaning of the biblical text as our instruction for holy living.

Worship Service

Our worship service reflects the principles laid out in Acts 2:42. Therefore, our services are intended to bring glory to God by employing expressions of worship prescribed in the New Testament for the church. Praising God in his Trinity is at the center of all that we do in our worship services. Exalting our Lord through the preached word, worshipful and doctrinal music, sacrificial giving and service is our expression of devotion to our Creator and Redeemer. Our hope is that our worship hours will equip the church to better carry out our duty as ambassadors of Christ and bring comforting joy to all participants.

Reaching the Lost

We strive to meet the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of people. As disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ we seek to be God-centered and yet people-oriented. Whereas the needs of the world around us and abroad are great and diverse, the primary need is still of the soul and can be met only through the worship of God through the proclamation of his Word. The central message of God’s Word is directed to mankind’s need for forgiveness and reconciliation with God. Thus, we are also concerned to bring the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to everyone around us and beyond our borders as instructed in Matthew 28:18-20 and join with God’s people who seek to reach “all the nations.” We rejoice in God’s call and enabling to join in evangelizing our nation and world and seek to represent Christ in his grace and judgment throughout as new churches are planted and glory is given to God.
